SUMMARY
This person maintains active and retired members’ files, consults with terminating employees re: options available, and prepares checks for new retirees, and active and retired deaths
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains liaison with the Treasurer’s Office, Human Resources Department and Payroll.
- Answers the Retirement Office telephone and emails, handles retirement office correspondence.
- Answer retirees’ questions and concerns, if appropriate refers them to the manager.
- Responsible for manual check production & distribution.
- Coordinates pension refunds & death benefits distributions.
- Responsible for vesting correspondence & paperwork,
- Responsible for collection of information on new hires and their enrollment into the pension system.
- Responsible mail distribution & maintain files.
- Maintain high confidentiality of information.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

High School graduate, college preferred.- Minimum three (3) years of office support experience.
- Ability to acquire a working knowledge of the rules and procedures governing the county’s pension plan.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Team player.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Ability and desire to learn the Pension Administration System ( A user friendly Database system).
