Qualifications
- Two year degree in a business-related field or high school diploma/G.E.D. with equivalent experience.
- Four (4) years' experience in a administrative support field with record of increasing responsibilities strongly preferred.
- High level of customer service to both internal and external clients
- Ability to operate office equipment
- Microsoft Office, proficiency in WORD and Excel required
- Ability to use computer technology efficiently
- Experience with contracts, general operating budgets, and grants.
- Must know how to format business correspondence/reports
- Ability to learn new technology applications independently in a timely manner
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in office procedures.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects concurrently and to organize and prioritize work to meet all deadlines.
- Ability to work with and relate to young children and their families.
- Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI
- Welcome families and visitors to our early learning programs in a positive and professional way. Answer telephones and take and relay messages.
- Communicate early learning program concerns (facilities issues, etc.) to program administrator in a timely manner and assist in resolution of concerns as needed.
- Coordinate the acceptance of food deliveries and prep food in a timely and accurate manner according to program standards
- Provide administrative support for the Head Start leadership team.
- Maintain reports, invoices, service plans, budgets, etc. as requested in a timely manner.
- Type reports, letters, memoranda, requisitions, and forms using applicable word processing tools.
- Maintain various records using financial and related databases and spreadsheet technology as appropriate.
- Will collaborate with Family Engagement Worker to ensure consistent and accurate recruitment and enrollment structure for early learning programs.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with MCIU staff, Policy Council Members, parents, government officials and a wide variety of service agencies.
- Maintain program, client, and employee confidence by keeping information confidential.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the Program Administrator.
- Attend all staff meetings and related in-service training
