SUMMARY
Primary function to support and maintain the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) / Mobile Data Computer systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Prioritizes support tickets and coordinates CAD and Mobile related vendor management to ensure deliverables, services, and follow through to ensure timelines for ticket resolution are met.
- Oversees CAD and Mobile IT equipment for readiness and preparedness
- Assist IT CAD Team in maintenance, upgrade, and evaluate all CAD and Mobile systems including all CAD related ancillary systems including ProQA and geographical information systems (GIS)
- Assist the team in programming mobile data computers and vehicle modems
- Audit and accounting of MDC licensing for the CAD system
- Evaluates, implements, identifies and troubleshoots known or potential problems with CAD and Mobile systems in both production and testing systems
- Maintain knowledge and documentation of CAD/Mobile operations, processes, and interfaces and IT infrastructure that supports CAD.
- Maintains after hours on call rotation determined by on call schedule.
- Responds and works as assigned during any or all after hours maintenance and disasters
- Performs other related duties, as assigned or needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or GED required.
- AA/AS or equivalent industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of EMS and Fire Dispatch Operations
- Basic Use of Computer Aided Software (CAD) Systems.
- Prior experience in various telecommunications devices and practices.
- Proficient typing skills – 40 words per minute.
- Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and HITECH (Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health) standards.
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE
- Preferred experience with Microsoft Windows and Windows Server environment.
- Preferred experience with SQL database, word processing, and spreadsheet skills.
- Knowledge/Experience Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) systems.
- ESRI GIS experience preferred.
- Basic email and internet skills required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Current Texas Driver’s License
- Remain insurable by the current insurance vendor of MCHD.
- NIMS 100, 200, and 700 certifications.
Must be able to obtain and maintain CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) certification within 6 months of employment.
