WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Office of the Director is currently recruiting for a professional that has experience working with senior leadership; understands the importance of effective and strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, and understands the nuances of working with the general public, community leaders and government leadership.
What You'll Be Doing
- Maintain efficient process for recurring office tasks to include file maintenance (control, expansion, retention and archival procedures)
- Respond to inquiries from the general public, attorneys, business and nonprofit representatives, community leaders and public officials.
- Provide administrative support to the Office of the Director (produce typed or word-processed memos/letters or other documents from rough draft, verbal instructions or taped material; create tables and graphs, brochures, etc. for submission to the County Council, County Executive, County committees/agencies, and outside organization and contractors).
- Provide phone and visitor reception.
- Manage correspondence, calendars and schedules for the unit.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from high school or High School Certificate of completion recognized in the State of Maryland.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be substituted.
Preferred Criteria, Interview Preferences
Preferred Criteria
- Experience working with Senior Leadership such as Community partner organizations, members of the County Executive Office and County Council.
- Extensive Knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS and SharePoint and Publisher.
- Experience in data entry and maintaining a Departmental database.
Preference for interview will be given to qualified candidates with the following experience. Applicable experience in these areas must be listed in your resume.
Oral communication to understand verbal information and to express such information verbally so that others will understand; this includes ability to listen ‘actively.’
- And willingness to shift seamlessly between tasks consistent with office-program priorities, daily workflow and other factors.
