Dental Hygiene Instructor Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Dental Hygiene, Healthcare, Education, or a related field
- Graduate of a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Degrees and coursework must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution (such as SACSCOC)
- Hold an unencumbered North Carolina Dental Hygiene license or be eligible for licensure prior to August 2026
- Current Local Anesthesia Certification or willingness to obtain within six months of hire
- Member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) or willing to become a member upon hire
- Clinical practice experience as a Dental Hygienist in a dental office setting
- Current CPR certification
- Evidence of continuing education required to maintain RDH licensure (minimum 6 hours annually)
Dental Assisting Instructor Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; candidates may be considered if they commit to obtaining a bachelor’s degree in a related field within three (3) years of hire
- Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Certified Dental Assistant in North Carolina
- Occupational experience applying four-handed dentistry principles as a dental assistant or working with a chairside assistant
- Graduate of a CODA-accredited Dental Assisting program
- Current CPR certification
