Role Description The Cardiac Sonographer is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomery, AL. This position is responsible for performing high-quality echocardiographic and other non-invasive cardiac ultrasound studies, including acquiring diagnostic images, optimizing image quality, and ensuring accurate measurements. Day-to-day tasks include preparing patients for procedures, explaining examinations in a clear and supportive manner, operating ultrasound equipment, and documenting findings in accordance with practice protocols. The Cardiac Sonographer will collaborate closely with cardiologists and other clinical team members, maintain equipment and exam rooms, adhere to safety and infection control standards, and support efficient patient flow and scheduling.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Cardiology and Non-invasive Cardiology, with the ability to perform and interpret standard cardiac ultrasound procedures within scope of practice.
- Current or eligible credentialing with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting echocardiography equipment, with attention to image quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and provide compassionate, patient-focused care.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize multiple examinations, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic health records.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
- Previous experience in a cardiology practice or hospital setting is preferred but not required.
