Preschool Teacher Assistant

Job Summary

Responsibilities and Duties of Teacher Assistant

· Arrive in the classroom, ready to work at scheduled time.

· Appropriately supervise children while always keeping them safe

· Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean and organized.

· Clean table, chairs, and floor after morning snack, lunch, and afternoon snack

· Clean countertops, and microwave

· Help lead teacher change out practical life shelves once a month.

· Sanitize work during rest period.

· Keep shelves always organized and clean.

· Pick up work as needed.

· Change diapers every hour or as needed.

· Be attentive and interactive with children, redirect children as needed.

· Give basic report to parents regarding the child’s day. Be mindful of words used to describe the child’s behavior. (Whiny, Mean, and/or Bad are not appropriate/respectful words to describe the child) Stick to the basic activities for the day when communicating with parents about the child.

· Refer parents to the lead teacher for any questions/concerns.

· Sweep and mop the entire room especially under table and high traffic areas.

· Take out all trash before leaving/as needed.

· Make sure to securely lock the door that leads to the playground.

· Sanitize trash can.

· Spray all door handles, toilet flusher and light switches with Clorox mixture or peroxide solution after the last child has left the classroom at the end of day.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
