The Role
Our Assistant Director works side by side with the Director to keep the school running smoothly every day. You'll be the Director's right hand in operations, compliance, enrollment, and staff support, and you'll lead the school when the Director is away. What You'll Do

• Support daily operations, including staff scheduling, ratio coverage, and classroom support across all pods
• Help maintain Texas HHSC licensing compliance: records, files, inspections, and daily health and safety checks
• Lead school tours, follow up with prospective families, and support the enrollment process
• Serve as a first point of contact for parent questions and concerns, escalating to the Director as needed
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new Team Members, and model Montessori practice in the classroom
• Assist with the planning and launch of our new Elementary program
• Step in as the person in charge when the Director is off-site

What We're Looking For
Required:

• At least 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center or Montessori school, with some leadership or supervisory experience
• Meets Texas HHSC requirements to serve as the person in charge in the Director's absence
• Strong communication skills with staff and families
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable with records and deadlines
• Able to pass a background check and meet all Texas minimum standards

Preferred:

• AMS or AMI Montessori credential (Infant/Toddler or Early Childhood)
• Texas Director credential, or working toward one
• Degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field
• Experience with enrollment, tours, or family relations

Schedule & Pay

• $45,000–$50,000 per year, based on experience, plus annual bonus
• Full-time, [Monday–Friday, hours]
• Occasional evening or weekend events (tours, family functions)
• Must be able to move throughout indoor and outdoor environments, lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, and respond promptly to health or safety situations
