Position Overview
We’re seeking a caring and dependable Primary Assistant Guide to support our morning classroom community. The Assistant Guide works alongside the Lead Guide to maintain a peaceful, beautiful Montessori environment where young children can grow in confidence and independence.
This position is perfect for someone who finds joy in helping children discover their world, values purposeful work, and thrives in a calm, collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Guide in preparing and maintaining the Montessori environment
- Model grace, courtesy, and respect while guiding children through their work
- Supervise children attentively indoors and outdoors
- Assist with classroom setup, material care, and cleaning routines
- Observe and record classroom activity as requested
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
- Genuine love and respect for children and Montessori philosophy
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and move easily through the classroom and playground
- Reliable, calm, and collaborative demeanor
- Successful background check and required health documentation
