Duties
- Support the Nido Guide in creating a calm and stimulating classroom environment.
- Assist with daily routines, including helping children with eating, sleeping, and transitioning between activities.
- Encourage children?s independence and curiosity while fostering positive relationships.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized space conducive to the children's growth.
- Observe and document children?s developmental progress, contributing to progress reports and assessments.
- Communicate with parents about children's activities, milestones, and concerns.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
- Uphold the philosophy and values of the Nido program, ensuring it aligns with Montessori principles.
- Assist in maintaining a healthy, hygienic, and welcoming environment for children.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young children (preferably in a Nido or Montessori setting) is preferred but not required.
- A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their developmental needs.
- Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Patience, creativity, and flexibility.
- A high school diploma or equivalent (higher education in early childhood education is a plus).
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a Montessori or Nido environment.
- Experience working with children who speak Spanish as their first language.
- Certification or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
