Infant Assistant Teacher

Summary

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and energetic individual to join our team as a Nido Assistant Guide. The Nido Assistant Guide will work alongside our Nido Guide to support the children in their developmental journey, ensuring a safe, engaging, and structured environment. This position requires fluency in Spanish to communicate effectively with our diverse community and families.

Duties

• Support the Nido Guide in creating a calm and stimulating classroom environment.
• Assist with daily routines, including helping children with eating, sleeping, and transitioning between activities.
• Encourage children?s independence and curiosity while fostering positive relationships.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized space conducive to the children's growth.
• Observe and document children?s developmental progress, contributing to progress reports and assessments.
• Communicate with parents about children's activities, milestones, and concerns.
• Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Uphold the philosophy and values of the Nido program, ensuring it aligns with Montessori principles.
• Assist in maintaining a healthy, hygienic, and welcoming environment for children.

Requirements

• Previous experience working with young children (preferably in a Nido or Montessori setting) is preferred but not required.
• A genuine love for working with young children and supporting their developmental needs.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• Patience, creativity, and flexibility.
• A high school diploma or equivalent (higher education in early childhood education is a plus).
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a Montessori or Nido environment.
• Experience working with children who speak Spanish as their first language.
• Certification or coursework in Early Childhood Education.
• Knowledge of child development and Montessori teaching techniques.
• Ability to support children in both Spanish and English.
• Experience with documentation or observation of children's progress.
• First Aid/CPR certification in infant and childcare.
