Role Description
This is a part-time (30 hour), on-site role based in Aurora, CO, for an Elementary Music Teacher. The teacher will design and deliver music lessons aligned with Montessori principles, focusing on theory, performance, and creative expression. Responsibilities include fostering a love of music, teaching students foundational and advanced music concepts, guiding them in learning musical instruments (such as guitar and recorder), organizing performances, and cultivating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment. Active collaboration with other educators to enhance the overall educational experience is also expected.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Music Theory and foundational principles of music education
- Skills in Music Performance, with the ability to inspire and guide students in showcasing their individual talents
- Experience in Music Education and teaching methodologies, especially in an elementary school or Montessori setting
- Capability in playing and teaching musical instruments.
- Bilingual - Native or native-like fluency in Spanish AND English, ability to provide instruction, communicate with parents, and participate in staff meetings in both languages
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to connect with diverse groups of students and parents
- Experience in a dual-language or bilingual education setting preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or teaching certification in Music Education or a closely related field
- Passion for nurturing creativity and a strong commitment to culturally responsive teaching
