Montessori Children's House is seeking an Director for their school age child care program and an Elementary Classroom Assistant, who demonstrates strong leadership abilities by creating and maintaining positive relationships with the children, families and staff.
Essential Functions:
- Creating a classroom that is fun and supports play, exploration and learning
- Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
- Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
- Establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment
- Advancing students physical and intellectual competence
- Supporting social and emotional development and providing both positive guidance and reinforcement
- Maintaining a commitment of professionalism with students, families, peers and management
- Ensure operation of the program meets all state licensing and accreditation standards, policies and procedures
- Responsible for daily operations and assumes all Director responsibilities and duties
- Maintain the mission and philosophy of Montessori Children's House
- Establish and maintain effective relationships and communication with the children, families and staff
- Participate and provide leadership for the planning and implementation of annual program goals
Qualifications and Experience:
- Possess an Associate's degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development or School Age Certification
- Have a minimum of two years of experience in a licensed child care facility
- A well-developed philosophy on the education of young children, which parallels the educational philosophy of Montessori Children's House
