Montessori Children's House of the West Coast (MCH) is looking for a assistant teacher to join the team of devoted and tenured faculty and a wonderful community of families and alumni. With over 45 years of history, MCH is a hidden gem in the Inner Richmond and has a strong reputation for having an exceptional Montessori program.
The Assistant Teacher joins the classroom teaching team in preparing and maintaining a vibrant, supportive, and enriching Montessori environment for children ages 3-5.
Responsibilities
Ensures the safety and physical well being of the children at all times.
Helps children complete their work, redirecting them when needed;
Provides supervisory support during recess and nap/rest period;
Assists in field trips and other classroom or school events;
Helps keep classroom orderly:
Participates in classroom meetings with teaching team:
Participates in faculty meetings and professional development days;
Qualifications
An Associates degree or Bachelors of Arts/Science degree
ECE coursework (12 credits minimum)
Excellent communicator and collaborator
Empathetic and sensitive to the needs of children, parents, and colleagues
Warm, professional manner; takes initiative
Flexible; able to handle the many demands of a classroom with ease and humor
Typical start time: 7:30 am
Typical end time: 3:30 pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
