Position Summary
We are currently seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Montessori Teacher to support our Toddler, and GSRP classrooms. This full-time role is specifically for a closing shift (9-6), helping to ensure a smooth and supportive end to each child’s day. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, eager to learn the Montessori method, and committed to nurturing young learners in a peaceful, respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the lead Montessori teacher in maintaining a calm, engaging, and organized learning environment.
- Guide children through daily routines with consistency and kindness.
- Foster independence, respect, and a love of learning in each child.
- Assist with classroom management, redirection, and transitions.
- Supervise afternoon and closing routines, including snack, outdoor time, and pick-up.
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and prepare materials as needed.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues and families.
- Uphold school policies, safety guidelines, and licensing requirements.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); coursework in early childhood education (preferred).
- Experience working with young children in a group setting (Montessori experience is a plus but not required).
- Dependable, patient, and willing to learn.
- Ability to work the full shift (9:00 AM - 6:00 PM) with a 1-hour lunch break.
- Must meet all licensing and background check requirements.
