As an Assistant Infant Teacher (1 yr exp w infants in childcare req) you’ll work closely with a trained Montessori Head Teacher to create a caring, joyful, and developmentally rich classroom for infants aged 3 to 18 months.
Key Responsibilities for Assistant Infant Teacher (1 yr exp w infants in childcare req)
- Provide attentive, safe supervision of infants during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Support infants with daily routines, including feeding, diapering, dressing, and naptime.
- Foster independence and self-discovery through age-appropriate activities and gentle guidance.
- Comfort and engage children by reading stories, singing songs, and participating in play.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
- Communicate positively and professionally with parents and colleagues.
- Collaborate as part of a nurturing, enthusiastic teaching team.
- Embrace ongoing learning about Montessori philosophy and best practices.
Qualifications for Assistant Infant Teacher (1 yr exp w infants in childcare req)
- Previous experience working with infants in a licensed child care setting (required).
- Warm, compassionate, and reliable personality.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and accept feedback from lead teachers and supervisors.
- Interest in Montessori education (prior Montessori experience is a plus, but not required).
