Now Hiring: Off Duty Law Enforcement/Armed Officer for Crew Protection- Full and Part Time
Located near Chicago/Chicagoland Area, IL 60153
We are seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates with Active/Retired Law Enforcement or Armed Security experience.
Ideal candidates may have experience in areas such as:
- Law Enforcement
- Armed Security in critical infrastructure dispatch (utilities, transit, etc.)
- Armored car or other armed protection details
- Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT)
- Municipal emergency management support roles
Position Overview:
In the Crew Protection role, you will be responsible for:
- Reporting to Maywood IL for standby assignment to ComEd Crew protection.
- Provide escort via company vehicle or respond to locations where ComEd crews are providing work.
- Responsible for ‘checking in’ and providing updates via provided cell phone to ComEd and Company dispatch.
- Ensuring timely, accurate responses to incidents.
- SHIFTS ARE 12HOURS 5:30am-5:30pm and 5:30pm-5:30am
- Must be available for Minimum 2 shifts (24hrs) per week. More hours available on weekly basis.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous communication with ComEd.
- Document all incidents and activity with accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams and contacts.
- Support operations with professionalism and urgency.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Communication: Clear, calm, and effective verbal and written skills.
- Attention to Detail: Accurate log keeping and procedural adherence are essential.
- Must be an active certified Illinois Police Officer or Law Enforcement Officer, in good standing with employed Department(s) or an active PERC license holder with active FOID and 20hr armed course completed (requalification in 2025 required as well if course was completed in previous years)
- For IL Police/L.E. Officers must be able to provide (VE-PEC) verification of employment as Peace Officer documentation from employed Department(s)
- Must have ability to maintain composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.
- Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., cell phone).
- Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Working conditions:
- All sites consist of outdoor post that may involve working in inclement weather conditions.
Physical requirements:
- Standing and Walking for extended periods of time.
- Must be physically capable of lifting, pushing and or pulling at least 50lbs.
- Accommodate foot patrols on the interior & exterior of the assigned facilities.
