This pool will have substitute opportunities in the following classifications: Health Assistant- Range 30= $24.41 Licensed Vocational Nurse- Range 40= $31.33
Requirements / Qualifications
Health Assistant Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in a health-related field or 2 years of post-high school education in nursing or a health education program. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a health-related field, preferably with school-aged children as a nurse, nurse’s aide, health assistant, or the equivalent • Substitution of education for two years of experience: High school graduation and at least 30 semester hours or the equivalent of post-high school education in nursing or vocational nursing. Licenses and Certificates: • A valid Class C California Driver’s License and evidence of appropriate insurance are required • Current Red Cross First Aid (including the Heimlich Maneuver) /CPR certification required Licensed Vocational Nurse Requirements: • High school graduation or GED equivalent • Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurses Training Program. License and Certificates: • Possession of a valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse license. • Possession of a valid Class C California driver's license (as appropriate to the assignment) and access to reliable insured transportation to and between assigned school sites during the school day. •CPR Certification card, and a Red Cross First Aid certificate. Experience: • Related healthcare experience is required. • Previous experience working with severely handicapped children in a school setting is highly desirable.
