Radiologic Technologist

Join us as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist at the Toms River Veterans Community Based Outpatient Clinic located in Toms River, NJ. This is a locum/contract assignment with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Multiple modalities required.

Duties include:

• Perform technical Radiology services on site for one or more of the following:
• General Radiography (X-ray, fluoroscopy, DEXA)
• Computed Tomography (CT)
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist
• Sonography/Ultrasound
• Prepare patients for radiographic or sonographic procedures
• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations according to the service’s procedures
• Perform quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
• Monitor patients for potentially dangerous physical or emotional changes during exams.
• Prepare contrast agents
• Accurately record pharmaceutical doses
• *Nuclear Medicine Technologists prepare doses of radioactive pharmaceuticals and non-radioactive pharmaceuticals.
• Evaluate test results for clarity and accuracy.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and workspace per standard operating procedures.
• Prepare digital images for interpretation by the radiologist.
• Attend all staff meetings as required.

Schedule: Full-time, 8A-4:30P Mon-Fri. Occasional overtime may be pre-approved at the discretion of the Chief DRT. Shift rotations for federal holidays as needed.

Period of Performance: 12-month base period (9/15/2026-9/14/2027) w/ four additional 12-month renewal options available for a possible total of up to 5 years.

Qualifications:

· Education. High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s Degree preferred.

· Certification. Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). DRTs that provide specialty coverage must also have advanced certification in one or more of the following: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography (M), Vascular Interventional Radiography (IR), Cardiac Interventional Radiography, and/or Nuclear Medicine (N). Nuclear Medicine Technologists may also be certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) instead of ARRT. RDMS required for Sonographers, RVT from ARDMS required for Vascular Sonographers. Cardiac Catheterization Technologists must have either a Cardiac Interventional Radiography Certificate (CIR) OR a Vascular Interventional Radiography Certificate (VIR) from ARRT. BLS required for all modalities.

· Experience. Capable of demonstrating technical knowledge in specialized modality of expertise.

· Must be proficient in spoken and written English in accordance with VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Chapter 3, Section A, paragraph 3.j.

· Subject to background/security investigation.

· Must pass TB test.

· Complete an online onboarding process.

· Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.

· Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

· Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events.

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
