As a Lighting Quotations Specialist at Monterey Lighting Solutions, you’ll play a key role in transforming how commercial lighting is bought. You’ll prepare accurate, competitive quotations that give owners, contractors, designers, and engineers the transparency and confidence they need. You’ll become a trusted advisor, building long-term relationships while delivering real value through smart product selections and cost-saving alternatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Review bid requests, fixture schedules, and electrical drawings to build accurate bills of materials
- Prepare and deliver timely, professional quotations — including same-day quick-turn responses
- Negotiate vendor pricing and terms to create highly competitive project quotations
- Offer value-engineered alternatives that maintain design objectives while protecting budgets
- Partner closely with sales teams to develop winning strategies for customers
- Provide exceptional communication and support to customers, vendors, and other stakeholders
- Build lasting industry relationships and become a go-to resource for your clients
- Continuously look for ways to improve processes and deliver even better results
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE NEEDED:
To succeed in this role, you’ll be a quick, organized problem-solver who enjoys blending technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills. You’re someone who stays cool under pressure, manages multiple priorities, and genuinely cares about helping clients make the best possible decisions.

REQUIRED:
- Proven experience in lighting quotations or estimating (Minimum 3 years required)
- Strong knowledge of architectural lighting, LED technology, and lighting controls
- Ability to accurately perform takeoffs and interpret electrical drawings
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Bluebeam (Parspec and Acumatica Software experience a plus)
- Ability to work independently and manage tight deadlines
- Strong sales and customer service mindset
