The Monterey County Fair is seeking an energetic, accomplished, and community-minded Event Sales & Marketing Coordinator. Position Details:
- Hours: 40 hours per week, with additional hours as required
- Salary: $4,868 – $6,093 per month
- Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision
- Retirement & Vacation: Per CALHR
- Holidays: 11 paid holidays annually
- Sick Leave: 8 hours per month
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the CEO and Deputy Manager, this role coordinates, organizes, and facilitates events at the Monterey County Fairgrounds. Responsibilities include negotiating rental agreements, preparing contracts, coordinating event staff, tracking payroll information, and overseeing budgets and financial transactions. This position also assists with competition guidelines, volunteer recruitment, securing judges, and promoting results.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three years’ experience coordinating events in a civic center, auditorium, theater, or hotel, including one year coordinating staff.
- College education may substitute for up to two years of experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
- Ability to lift 30 lbs. and work evenings/weekends as needed.
- Valid CA driver’s license required.
