Job Summary

The RN maintains professional practice standards and clinical expertise. This role demonstrates core and specific competencies based on care required for the pre/post operative patient population served for the Specialty Surgeons of Connecticut Practice. The RN will be scheduled on an hourly basis determined by the provided schedule, patient visits and follow up care required.

Essential Functions

• 1. Coordinates a plan of care for patients and families for pre and post operative visits.
• 2. Documents and demonstrates teaching/learning needs of patients and families for pre and post operative visits.
• 3 .Documentation reflects systematic and continuous collection of data.
• 4. Documents all relevant case and patient information in EMR.
• 5. Utilizes knowledge of nursing, research and evidenced based practice in the application of care and clinical judgment.
• 6. Responds appropriately to urgent/emergent situations.
• 7. Administers medication according to the medication administration policy.
• 8. Integrates the standards of excellence into daily clinical practice.
• 9. Ensure compliance with written policies, procedures and standards of practice/care.
• 10. Maintains licensure and current registration.
• 11. Maintains mandatory certification, and competency including but not limited to annual review, BLS, etc.

Qualifications

• BS NYSED accredited institution Preferred
• 4-6 years Per educational requirements for RN
• OHS Fit Test Required
• OHS Annual Assessment Required
• Registered Nurse New York NCLEX Required
• Basic Life Support Required
