Equipment Fleet and Shop Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under the direction of the Director of Agronomy, the Equipment Manager oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program as well as the repair of all equipment. This position requires good record keeping, ordering, scheduling. The Equipment manager ensures that all mower blades are sharp and cutting properly. The Equipment Manager properly communicates any needs, problems or safety issues relating to the maintenance or repair of equipment in/out of service directly to the Director of Agronomy. The Equipment Manager places safety as a top priority with all equipment and equipment operation, maintains and responsible for a safe, clean, organized shop area and maintenance facility, performs skilled activities involving golf course maintenance and construction, performs multiple tasks required for the golf course, but not limited to.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • With the Director of Agronomy, accurately follows all work instructions and directives, works professionally as a team in successfully completing the job, follows all company policies and procedures, supports all efforts of the team associates and department.
  • Inspects, prioritizes, diagnoses, service and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various golf course maintenance equipment professionally, accurately, and timely. Including; all diesel-, electric- and gasoline-powered automobiles, trucks, trenchers, sweepers, rollers, mowers, and other mechanical equipment used in utility work, 2-stroke and 4-stroked engines.
  • Adheres to all safety standards, assists with training of the team associates regarding safe operation of new and used equipment, preventive maintenance, equipment storage and proper equipment cleaning.
  • Assist with special activities, tournaments and course prep, improvement projects, capital repairs, including but not limited to fabrication, welding and torching.
  • Maintains fuel station, fuel cabinet and 2 cycle oil mix, new and used oil and hydraulic oil stations, safety, cleanliness, orders fuel.
  • Participates with daily morning meetings, leadership meetings, and monthly safety meetings.
  • Protect all company assets.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

  • Working knowledge of light and heavy maintenance equipment and automotive apparatuses.
  • Skilled in the use of a variety of equipment repair tools, and various types of mechanical repair.
  • Working knowledge of the theory, care, and operation of internal combustion engines.
  • Knowledgeable in welding, torching and fabrication.
  • The ability to read electrical schematics and diagnose electrical failures.
  • Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions while maintaining and repairing equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical troubles and determine appropriate maintenance work.
  • Prior knowledge preferred of and/or ability to play the game of golf and understand how job performance affects the playing conditions of the golf course.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Technical Degree (2 year) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
