About the Role
Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a part-time Personal Banker II Float to join the team in our Solvang Branch. As a Personal Banker II Float, you will deliver a World Class Experience by providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. You will be a point of contact for walk-in customers, assisting with cash handling, sales, and referral needs. The Personal Banker II Float will educate clients about MB&T’s products and services matching the customer’s needs. You will also be cross trained to support the platform as needed with maintaining and opening accounts, discussing loans, and making referrals to other lines of business. While assigned to a “home branch”, the float must be able to report to any branch as needed and provide own reliable transportation. You will be located in Goleta, CA with a fully on-site work schedule, and travel throughout the Bank’s northern footprint (Santa Maria to Goleta) when necessary. The part-time schedule will be 30 hours per week.
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required; some college preferred
- One to three years of personal banker experience or commensurate sales experience, and six months previous point of sales experience required
- The ability to be registered as a Mortgage Loan Originator with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry
- The ability to pass a criminal background check administered by the Secretary of State in order to be commissioned as a Notary Public
- Customer service oriented with a desire to work with the public
- Strong sales skills and ability to accurately handle large amounts of currency
Your Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- With a good understanding of the bank products/services and the customer, offers information on bank products and services that can benefit the customer and enhance the banking relationship
- Handles a variety of cash and negotiable transactions accurately and efficiently
- Accurately operates network computers/software, and other equipment necessary, to handle financial transactions
- Assists in the acquisition of consumer and small business loan relationships; accepts consumer and small business loan applications and closes loans as directed by management
- Provides professional resolution to customer inquiries and/or issues
- Works as part of the branch team to ensure individual and branch goals are met
