Position Overview:
Monte Cassino School seeks a collaborative, energetic, and student-centered Middle School Physical Education (PE) Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year to support and develop a robust, engaging PE program. The teacher will co-teach with a fellow educator, bringing creativity, enthusiasm, and passion while modeling fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of movement for the middle-school community.
Responsibilities:
- Co-plan and co-teach engaging PE lessons aligned with state or national standards.
- Provide a wide range of activities promoting physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, cooperation, and enthusiasm for movement.
- Serve as a positive leader who enjoys collaboration.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Model and promote our JRP (Justice, Respect, and Peace) culture.
- Demonstrate a willingness to serve as advisor for 10–12 students.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support school initiatives and events.
- Assist with supervision (lunch, recess, carline, field trips).
- Maintain knowledge of basic first-aid procedures.
- Willingness to coach within the athletic department is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Education, or related field.
- Three years teaching experience preferred.
- CPR, AED, First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and student-centered approach.
- Creativity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working with middle school students.
Physical Requirements:
- Active mobility throughout campus/gym.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather.
- Operate basic office and instructional equipment.
