What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmworkers & Laborers position at Monte and Amanda Ayers Farms?
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers such as: Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and center pivot and drip operate irrigation equipment; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and primarily John Deere and Case IH self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as sprayer, planter, cotton stripper, combine, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, cotton; Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer’s fields, load employer’s crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Speak English and have basic math and mechanical skills and knowledge; No smoking allowed in employer provided equipment, housing or at employer worksites. Must speak and understand English.
