Job Description SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions, the Admissions Counselor assists in all aspects of the recruitment cycle for incoming students, including Freshmen, Transfer, International, and non-traditional populations. The Admissions Counselor manages a recruitment territory and conducts regular visits to high schools, participates in college fairs, interacts with students and their influencers, conducts presentations, and contributes at on-campus recruitment events in support of the University’s aggressive enrollment goals. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent the University at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment events throughout the region, including out-of-state travel. Schedule and coordinate travel to programs and events in assigned recruitment territory. Serve as primary contact for prospective students, parents, school administrators, and community officials. Deliver interactive presentations to diverse audiences at high school visits, campus tours, and Open House programs. Regularly meet with “Walk-In” visitors to the Undergraduate Admissions office. Advise prospective students in regard to application and enrollment procedures. Collaborate with the Admissions Committee in preparing and reviewing applications and evaluating credentials for prospective students. Work closely with offices in the Enrollment Management Division to ensure positive experiences for prospective students. Generate data and reports using Banner and Slate platforms. May be responsible for a special population of applicants, such as Veteran/Military applicants. Regularly communicate with interested parties via a variety of communication channels, including phone, text, e-mail, print, web, and social media. Assist with execution of Undergraduate Admissions events, including but not limited to Open House, Accepted Student Day, Scholar Day, and Counselor Workshop. Perform other duties as assigned. Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time. QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of one year of experience in admissions or customer service-oriented roles. The ability to present to large and small groups. Fluency in the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Flexible schedule for night and weekend programs. Unrestricted access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license. The ability to lift up to 30lbs. PREFERRED: Prior work experience in a higher education setting or similar organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Fluency in Spanish. Experience working with a CRM, particularly Slate, is a plus. Experience working with Ellucian Banner is a plus.
