Description:
The Montclair Cooperative School seeks a caring, organized, and energetic After School Program Coordinator to oversee our daily after-care program for students in PreK through 8th grade. The coordinator is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for students during after-school hours and supervising program staff. The hours are 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, beginning on September 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities

Supervise students from dismissal at 3:15 PM until parent pick-up at 6:00 PM

Ensure student safety and well-being at all times

Design and implement engaging activities (e.g., crafts, games, homework help) appropriate for a range of ages

Maintain accurate attendance records and ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures

Manage and supervise any additional after-care staff or volunteers

Communicate professionally and warmly with parents and school staff

Ensure that program spaces are clean, organized, and secure at the end of each day

Follow all school health, safety, and emergency protocols
Order and maintain necessary supplies within budget
Qualifications

Prior experience working in an after-school or childcare setting required

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage a group of children with warmth, structure, and consistency

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass all required background checks
