The role:
A private family based in Kings Point, New York is seeking a full-time Private Chef to take full responsibility for the household kitchen. The role focuses on cooking for three adults, with regular entertaining and occasional larger events. The position starts as soon as possible and includes summer travel to the Hamptons and occasional travel within the United States.
Food and cuisine preferences:
The family enjoys healthy, fresh, and vibrant cuisine with strong flavours and high-quality ingredients. Preferred styles include Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Asian, and Southeast Asian cuisines. Meals should be colourful, flavourful, and well presented, with a balance between health and indulgence. The chef must be confident working with kosher dietary principles. Service will include both relaxed family-style meals and refined plated dining for entertaining.
Contract and package:
This is a full-time, permanent W-2 employed position. Salary is USD $175,000 to $185,000 per year. The chef will work Wednesday to Sunday each week, providing lunch and dinner service, with two days off per week. A driving licence is preferred due to sourcing and travel requirements. Travel to the Hamptons during summer and occasional domestic travel is required.
Additional information:
The chef will manage all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, sourcing ingredients, provisioning, inventory, and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen at all times. A dedicated chef’s kitchen is provided.
