JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: District Principal on Special Assignment
Qualifications:
- NJ certification for principal mandatory and minimum of four years principal experience.
- Must possess strong communication, managerial and leadership skills,
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective principles of teaching and learning,
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in diverse school communities,
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities,
- Strong public relations skills,
- Ability to effectively motivate and evaluate staff and students,
- Required criminal background check and proof of US citizenship or legal alien status;
- Ability to work on site during the hours required;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable;
Responsible to: Superintendent of Schools or designee.
Job Goal: Serve administratively in special assignments for a period of one year. To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills in such a way that will coordinate all aspects of the given responsibilities within the framework of Board policy.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Within the scope of certification held, provide leadership necessary for the functions assigned;
- Develop and oversee the specific programs/projects assigned providing required deliverables and updates to the Superintendent;
- Prepare written reports and presentations as required;
- Participate fully in all required and necessary administrative meetings and responsibilities;
- Works with central administration on district programs;
- Review and provide services which conform to district objectives;
- Maintain positive relationships with the building administration, parents, other staff and students in the district;
- Enforces all board policies, administrative directions and state laws/regulations;
- Assume other related responsibilities and duties within the context of the above performance responsibilities.
Terms: 12 month salary and benefits as per the MPA agreement.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
