Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and friendly Customer Service Associate to join our cakery team. This role combines front-of-house customer service with essential back-of-house support, including basic kitchen tasks and dishwashing. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in maintaining cleanliness, and is committed to providing a positive experience for every customer.
Key responsibilities include greeting customers, taking and preparing orders, handling transactions, and ensuring the display area is well-stocked and visually appealing. In addition to customer-facing duties, this role supports the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, organizing ingredients, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace. Dishwashing and general cleaning tasks are also an important part of the position to ensure smooth daily operations.
Candidates should have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to help wherever needed. Previous experience in food service is helpful but not required. A positive attitude, teamwork, and reliability are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Greeting customers, taking and preparing orders.
- Accurately handling transactions.
- Taking care of front of house tasks such as folding boxes/maintaining a clean customer service area.
- Serving as a baker's assistant which includes dishwashing and prepping for product creation.
- Developing expertise to handle an ever increasing ability to bake independently.
Experience
- Prior experience in commercial baking/food service is a plus; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Prior experience in customer service/hospitality is required.
- Prior experience working a register and handling cash transactions with an ability to make change accurately is required.
Requirements
- Must have basic knowledge of baking principles
- Must be able to take and pass the state food handlers exam within 60 days of start date
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must have a driver's license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to bend, crouch and lift over 20 pounds
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Open availability is a plus, seeking someone with flexible availability Wed-Sun
Starting pay depends on qualifications/experience
