Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our vibrant culinary team! As a Baker, you will be responsible for making pepperoni rolls on a daily basis. We make our dough from scratch and hand roll it manually so a great deal of physical strength and stamina is required.
Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods including pepperoni rolls, cinnamon rolls, pastries, cakes, and cookies following established recipes and standards
- Decorate cakes and desserts with precision using piping techniques, fondant, and other decorating tools
- Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers and ovens safely and efficiently
- Package baked items for retail sale or catering orders while maintaining food safety protocols
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by adhering to sanitation standards and food safety regulations
- Assist in food preparation tasks like dough kneading, pastry filling, and ingredient measurement using basic math skills
- Support high-volume production needs during busy periods while ensuring consistency in product quality
- strong practice in cleanliness, utilizing a 3-compartment sink to ensure food safety
Experience
- Proven experience in baking or pastry preparation within a commercial kitchen or bakery setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and food safety management practices
- Skilled in cake decorating techniques and pastry arts with an eye for detail and presentation
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment used in baking environments
- Experience working in food production environments such as restaurants, catering services, or bakeries with high-volume output
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency across large batches of baked goods
- Excellent knife skills for dough shaping and ingredient preparation
- Previous experience in the food industry with a focus on culinary excellence and customer satisfaction is preferred
