Landscaping Team Members – Irrigation, Mowing & Installation

Montana Yard Butler is a growing, family-owned landscaping company serving residential and commercial properties throughout the Bozeman area. We provide lawn maintenance, landscape design and installation, hardscaping, irrigation, and snow-removal services.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

Experienced Irrigation Technician

Three Lawn Maintenance/Mowing Crew Members

Potential Landscape Installation Team Member

We are looking for dependable, hardworking individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in their work, and can help us provide high-quality service to our customers. Compensation will depend on the position, relevant experience, qualifications, and ability to work independently.

Irrigation Technician responsibilities

• Start up, inspect, maintain, and winterize irrigation systems
• Diagnose and repair leaks and other system issues
• Repair or replace sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, wiring, and other components
• Adjust systems for proper coverage and efficient water use
• Install new systems and assist with system expansions
• Document completed work, materials used, and recommended repairs
• Communicate professionally with customers, crew members, and office staff

Previous irrigation troubleshooting and repair experience is strongly preferred for this position.

Lawn Maintenance/Mowing responsibilities

• Mow residential and commercial properties using commercial equipment
• Trim and edge around buildings, fences, sidewalks, and other hard surfaces
• Blow grass clippings and debris from patios, sidewalks, and parking areas
• Follow assigned routes and complete properties according to company standards
• Report delays, property concerns, or requested schedule changes to the office
• Perform additional maintenance tasks such as weeding, pruning, and cleanup
• Safely operate and care for mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other equipment

Professional mowing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train dependable candidates with a strong work ethic.

Landscape Installation responsibilities

• Install sod, irrigation, edging, weed barrier, rock, mulch, trees, shrubs, and planting beds
• Prepare and grade soil for landscape installations
• Assist with paver patios, flagstone, fencing, and other hardscape projects
• Renovate existing landscapes by removing plants, sod, weeds, and other materials
• Load, unload, and transport tools and materials
• Safely operate hand tools, power equipment, and machinery
• Keep jobsites clean, organized, and safe

Previous landscaping, construction, grading, irrigation, hardscape, or equipment-operation experience is preferred.

General qualifications

• Able to work independently when required
• Able to communicate clearly with supervisors and office staff
• Able to perform physically demanding outdoor work in changing weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• Previous landscaping experience is preferred but not required for every position
