About us
Montana Wildfire Mitigation is a small business in Missoula, MT. Our goal is to sustainably thin and log forests to improve forest health and aid in wildfire prevention.
Looking for an experienced faller who can help with thinning and logging jobs and also join a falling mod during fire season . (3 years' experience in the commercial logging industry as a timber faller and/or 3 years' experience as a faller on wildfire incidents (1,000 hours of timber falling is equal to 1 year of experience).)
Responsibilities:
- Fell timber
- Choke and skid logs
- Hand piling / Hand thinning
- Pile burning
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
Skills:
- Knowledge of tree species is a plus
- Strong saw skills is a requirement
- Experience working on fire crews is a plus

Pay: $21.60 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
