With over 35 years of excellent care and several long time staff members, our team has a reputation in the community for excellence in patient care and customer service. As a small medical eye care practice, we value working together as a team and have forged a strong culture of mutual learning and growth. We are seeking a friendly and diligent ophthalmic assistant to join our team.

The ophthalmic assistant's role is to assist the ophthalmologist in performing eye examinations and procedures. Responsibilities include taking patient histories, refractions, intraocular pressures, lensometry, contact lens fitting, visual fields, OCTs, IOL Master and other ancillary testing as needed. Ophthalmic assistants may also assist the doctor as a scribe and assist during in office procedures. As part of a small office team, additional responsibilities may be assigned to help our practice.

Competence with precision instruments and scientific measurements is essential. While previous experience as an ophthalmic assistant, an ophthalmic technician, or optometric technician is preferred this position is also a great opportunity for a science graduate. We have experience training entry level employees in this role in the past

Preference will be given to those with COA, COT, COMT certifications and experience in ophthalmology or eye care. Applicants with a degree in healthcare or the sciences will also receive additional consideration. Wages depend on experience and education.
