Appointment will be within the College of Health Professions and Science https://www.msubillings.edu/chps/ and housed within our newly renovated state-of-the-art facility. MSUB is situated at the nexus of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, Rocky Mountains, and the Great Plains, while also located just blocks from one of the largest medical hubs in the region.

Instructional duties will primarily include teaching Zoology, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Animal Physiology, Principles of Biology, Discover Biology, and other courses as needs dictate with the opportunity to develop new courses in your area of expertise. Online development and delivery of selected courses may be a component of the instructional load.

Establishment and active management of a discipline-related research program involving undergraduates is expected. Evidence of high quality, innovative college teaching experience and potential for productive, externally-funded research in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting are required. Salary dependent on experience and on collective bargaining agreement. Provide high quality, innovative instruction for organismal and general biology courses offered by the department. Primary offerings will include Zoology, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Animal Physiology, Principles of Biology, Discover Biology, and other instructional duties assigned as needs dictate. The successful candidate would also have the opportunity to develop courses in their area of expertise. Development of an active undergraduate research program is expected.Required Qualifications:Ph.D. in Zoology or closely related disciplineEvidence of successful teaching experience at the university levelPotential for productive, externally-funded research programExcellent communication skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience teaching zoology and general biologyInterest in online course deliveryExperience mentoring undergraduate researchersApplicants will be reviewed and interviewed on an ongoing basis after the screening date. We also offer degrees in Biology, Chemistry and Health and Human Performance that prepare students to continue their education in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant Studies, Dentistry, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy. Students and Faculty in these programs have opportunities to collaborate, conduct joint research, expand research, develop additional career pathways, and build meaningful connections within the health services, industry, and biotech sectors to meet our community and regional needs.
