Marketing Graduate Assistant

Montana State University Bobcat Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for one Marketing Graduate

Assistant for the 2026–2027 academic year. This position is designed to provide graduate students withvaluable, real-world experience in collegiate athletics marketing within a Division I environment. The selected candidate will gain hands-on exposure to game presentation, fan engagement, digital marketing, community outreach, and special event operations while contributing to the overall success of Bobcat Athletics.

Responsibilities and opportunities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting the Athletics Marketing staff in promotional efforts for all home sports

• Leading and executing game day operations, including organizing on-field promotions, coordinating

with special groups, operating in-game music and production elements, and enhancing the overall fan experience

• Contributing to the creation of a strong home-field/home-court advantage for Bobcat student-athletes

• Managing daily operations of social media accounts and assisting with promotional email campaigns

• Assisting in the development and implementation of comprehensive marketing plans

• Supporting operations and promotional efforts for the Bobcat Kids Club

• Assisting with community relations initiatives and outreach programs

• Coordinating preparation and setup for special events, including fundraisers and fan engagement events

• Collaborating with external units including communications, creative services, and ticketing to

support overall marketing strategy

Required Qualifications:

• Must be accepted and enrolled in a graduate program at Montana State University beginning Fall 2026

• Passion for collegiate athletics and Bobcat Athletics

• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team-oriented environment

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends; attendance at all home Football, Volleyball, Women’s Basketball, and Track & Field events is required

• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to pursue a career in sports marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, sport management, or a related field

• Previous experience in collegiate athletics marketing, promotions, event management, or sports

marketing

• Experience with social media management and basic graphic design platforms

Compensation & Benefits:

• 10-month appointment generally starts 2nd week of August through 2nd week of May.

• $850 bi-weekly stipend ($1,700/month).

• Eligibility for reappointment based on good academic standing as determined by graduate school.
