Key Responsibilities Include:
- Perform hands-on fabrication of nonlinear optical waveguides
- Translate device designs and performance requirements into manufacturable fabrication recipes and travelers.
- Establish process windows, tolerances, and control metrics to ensure repeatability and yield.
- Develop, qualify, and continuously improve fabrication processes
- Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Performing mechanical and/or chemical processes to define waveguides
- Dice and polish waveguide crystal subassemblies
- Define and execute physical and optical characterization to assess fabricated waveguides and devices.
- Analyze process and device data to guide optimization and design feedback.
- Generate trustworthy, defendable data to support technical decisions and program milestones
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, SOPs, travelers, and change records.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, optics, or other related field, or 5 years of hands-on experience working in Chemistry or Photonics fabrication
- Ability to independently troubleshoot processes based on experimental results
