Job Summary
Montana Nugget Casino & Restaurant has an immediate opening for a dependable part time cook for breakfast and lunch service.
This position is expected to average approximately 25 to 35 paid hours per week. Scheduled days and hours may change based on business needs, staffing, and restaurant activity.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing quality food, follows recipes and portion standards, communicates well with coworkers, and can work independently when needed.
Morning, weekend, and some holiday availability is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast and lunch orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Open and prepare the kitchen for service when scheduled
- Follow approved recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Complete daily food preparation and keep the cooking line stocked
- Check food quality, freshness, and temperatures
- Complete temperature logs, prep sheets, cleaning checklists, and other required kitchen records
- Label, date, rotate, and properly store food products
- Monitor kitchen inventory and notify management of shortages or items that need to be ordered
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and cross contamination prevention procedures
- Communicate professionally with servers, casino attendants, the dishwasher, and management
- Work with the dishwasher, who will assist with food preparation, stocking, cleaning, and other kitchen duties as needed
- Help with cleaning, stocking, food preparation, and kitchen organization when customer orders are caught up
- Notify management of equipment problems, food quality concerns, low inventory, or sanitation issues
- Complete opening, shift, and closing responsibilities as assigned
- Work independently during slower periods and as part of a team during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience is preferred
- Previous breakfast or line cook experience is helpful
- Ability to follow written recipes and instructions
- Ability to prepare multiple customer orders accurately
- Ability to stay organized during busy periods
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Reliable transportation
- Professional attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned responsibilities

Schedule
- Part time

Physical Requirements
Applicants must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift and regularly bend, reach, lift, carry, and perform repetitive movements.
The position requires working around grills, fryers, ovens, heat, steam, grease, food allergens, cleaning products, and other normal commercial kitchen conditions.
Applicants must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Management
This position reports to the Casino Manager and Regional Manager.
Compensation
Compensation will be discussed during the interview.
Hiring Requirements
The selected applicant must complete all required hiring paperwork and complete approved food safety training after starting employment.
Pay: $14.50 - $17.50 per hour
