Position Summary
The Front Desk Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations at our imaging center. This individual is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for creating a friendly, professional, and organized environment. Key duties include scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, handling patient check-ins/check-outs, and managing front desk operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
· Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in/check-out procedures.
· Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, appointment availability, and preparation instructions for MRI and CT procedures.
· Provide clear and concise pre-appointment instructions and reminders.
· Schedule and confirm appointments using the center’s scheduling system.
· Verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and obtain pre-authorizations when necessary.
· Collect and enter accurate patient information into electronic health records (EHR).
· Manage daily patient flow, ensuring minimal wait times and efficient use of the imaging schedule.
· Process patient co-pays, payments, and provide receipts.
· Maintain a clean and organized reception area.
· Communicate effectively with MRI and CT technologists to coordinate patient scheduling and workflow.
· Work collaboratively with billing and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient processing.
· Follow HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality.
· Ensure compliance with imaging center policies and procedures.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
· Previous experience in a medical front desk or administrative role preferred.
· Familiarity with medical terminology, especially in imaging services (MRI/CT), is a plus.
· Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer software (Microsoft Office, etc.).
· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Professional, friendly demeanor with a commitment to excellent customer service.
