What are the responsibilities and job description for the Propane Air Mix Plant Operator position at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co?
Responsible for placing safety as the #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Plans, operates, and performs maintenance on the Propane Air Mixing Plant (PAMP). Performs repairs, replacements and maintenance for all components, including shop, office, groundskeeping, compressors, pumps, vaporizers, tanks and control systems. Maintains all related documents and forms to comply with Company procedures and federal guidelines. May be trained to perform other duties as assigned at the District Office, Ellsworth Air Force Base, and/or assisting Gas Measurement when NOT working or performing required tasks at the PAMP.
MINIMUM QUALIFCATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalency.
Strong knowledge of propane storage, pipe systems, motors and pneumatic controls.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage, or unauthorized access.
Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
On-call requirements.
Due to the need for unescorted access to security sensitive locations and/or systems, must also submit to Air Force Base background check.
Requires travel: Moderate (up to 25%).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of propane, natural gas, gas production, power plant, advanced controls systems and/or electronic control systems.
Advanced technical skills in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical and control equipment.
Excellent teamwork skills.
Experience in operating heavy equipment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
Perform all safety checks, start-up procedures and on-line operation of the PAMP.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electronic, and advanced control systems.
Plan, schedule and coordinate with contractors for required maintenance.
Document and maintain compliance documents and plant logs.
Performs other duties, tasks or special projects as assigned.
