What are the responsibilities and job description for the Energy Services Technician position at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co?
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day-to-day work routine for self and others. Supports MDU Utilities Group residential and commercial customer acquisition process, including cost estimates for developments, feasibility analysis and contract generation and facilitation. Builds and maintains positive relationships with area land developers and promotes the specification of natural gas within developments. Builds and maintains positive working relationship with internal and external customers and supports the joint trench projects when applicable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a working knowledge of business practices, including communication and negotiation skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a four-year degree in business administration or applicable field; and
Three year’s related experience in customer acquisitions and/or contracting, cost estimating, natural gas or electric utility experience, particularly in the areas of construction, operations or regulatory affairs
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must take all measures necessary to protect networks, devices, programs and data from cyber-attack, damage or unauthorized access.
Required to maintain a valid driver’s license.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.
Subject to pre-employment drug testing and background checks.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Basic understanding of mapping systems.
Understanding of property descriptions and land plats, as well as survey and gas pipeline experience.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
Facilitates positive relationships with land developers while conducting cost estimates for new housing and commercial developments, feasibility analysis and develops contracts that best support customer acquisition.
Responsible to maintain current in and follow established procedures and guidelines regarding land rights, operations and business development practices.
Provides daily support to Utility Project Planners in vetting customer inquiries and requests for service.
Attends joint trench project meetings and prepares projects in a timely manner to meet project schedules.
Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
Offers typically made between $63,860 - $79,830.
