Production Machine Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Duties

• Operate Bridgeport, Manual Lathe & Keying/Broaching Machines, and others as trained/required.
• Deburr and/or clean parts as required.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
• Determines cutting speeds, feed rates, and cutting tools to be used.
• Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling and attachments to turret or tool change magazine in correct sequence on designated machine.
• Loads control media from computer system into machine controller or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed instructions from data base if applicable.
• Calculates and sets machine controls to position spindle and turret in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow.
• Lifts workpiece manually or using hoist, and positions and secures it in work center.
• Verifies conformance of machined workpieces to specifications using common tools such as verniers, micrometers, plug gauges and height gauge. When parts go out of tolerance change cutting tools or offsets to bring back.
• Creates and maintains set up sheets.
• Tracks material usage, setup time, run time, job traveler for each job.
• Discusses control media errors with supervisor or programming personnel to resolve problems.
• Computes such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, and feed rates.
• Cleans machine, tooling, and parts. Performs routine machine maintenance.
• Sets up and operates another machine tool during machining cycles.
• Performs other related duties as directed by supervisor.
• Adhere to & participate in Montalvo’s Total Quality Management program.

LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
