Responsibilities:
- Securing close supervision of children throughout daily session.
- Working in cooperation to plan and implement curriculum program
- Treating each child with dignity and respect.
- Assisting in signing in/out of children.
- Supervising teaching assistances, aides and volunteers.
- Supervising lunch, nap/rest, and snack routines, facilitating pleasant and smooth transitions.
- Assuming and equal share of joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
- Attending all staff meetings. Planning and implementing at least one staff training meeting each year.
- Conforming to health, safety, licensing and title 5 regulations.
- Keeping records that pertain to the administration of the school including keeping student files up to date.
- Keeping abreast of research and new developments in the field of early childhood.
- Scheduling the responsibilities of assistant teacher and aide.
- Operating the program within the budget.
- Assisting with purchasing of equipment and supplies.
- Collecting tuition when needed.
- Planning for and equipping outdoor and indoor areas.
- Keeping inventory records.
- Managing supplies.
- Replacing equipment and stocking supplies as needed.
- Assisting with selection of aides.
- Arranging for substitute help as needed.
- Conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Assisting the staff in developing a workable plan for using the indoor and outdoor space.
- Planning and implementing procedures that lead to wholesome interpersonal relationships between staff members.
- Enrolling children on a first come first serve basis, in accordance with school policy and Title 5 guidelines.
- Interviewing parents of prospective students.
- Planning for gradual orientation of newly enrolled students.
- Familiarizing the parents of newly enrolled pupils with school policies.
