What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bills of Materials Analyst position at MONTAGUE CO CORP?
Job Summary
The Manufacturing Bill of Materials Analyst primarily reports to the Manager for Sustain Engineering and interacts with other Engineers in the Engineering Department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating/maintaining bills of materials, ERP product data management & process development, production support, and maintaining documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Creates and verifies bills of material based on product design and corelates the same with the flow/consumption of material during manufacturing.
Effective in interpreting Quotes/POs to promptly generate accurate bills of material.
Ability to develop and modify large bill of materials containing, with the capacity to determine appropriate adjustments, including additions, removals, and modifications, based on unit customization requirements.
Thoroughly understands and maintains Item cards & BOMs in an ERP which in turn effectively communicates with other departments.
Basic knowledge of product costing (material, labor & overhead), order replenishment & demand planning.
Ability to work on projects from order initiation/creation through invoicing/shipping. This involves working closely with other departments like Sales, Customer Service, Accounting and Production.
Communicate with Engineers to detail the requirements of the project, as well as plan, consolidate, and prepare for the necessary steps to complete the project.
Creates markups on drawings for custom requests.
Suggest & develop ideas/processes or revise current practices for a more efficient ERP operation.
Coordinate with staff members in other departments as needed.
Reads and understands documents such as SOPs, policy manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions.
Completes any required safety classes to applicable OSHA guidelines & occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs.
Qualifications:
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
Associates of Science, Technical Education or related.
2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience of operating in modern ERP environments from a product design aspect.
Thorough understanding of BOM structures, product design, and concept of Design for Manufacturing.
Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and related software
Preferred:
Acquired strong experience in a manufacturing environment, especially with custom projects.
Previous experience working with Microsoft Dynamics/Business Central in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of BOMs & importance of material flow from procurement to shipping.
Experience using CAD such as SolidWorks & AutoCAD with product data/life cycle tools.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Salary : $31 - $36
