- Founded in 2004
- Offices in Scottsdale, Arizona and Salt Lake City, Utah

- Focus on four sectors (technology and professional services, healthcare, industrial products and services, and consumer)
Our Key Pain Points
We manage a network of ~1,500 intermediaries who bring us ~1,200 investment opportunities each year. These relationships span a wide range of size, sophistication, industry focus, and deal quality, making it difficult to consistently engage across the full network. In addition to these structured relationships, we also develop specific investment themes that we direct towards business owners to drive direct engagement, build a foundation of trust with our firm and brand, and ultimately source proprietary, off-market opportunities.
With a lean team, we are limited in our ability to fully leverage each of these channels today, leaving valuable relationships and opportunities untapped.
Where We Need Help
Our firm needs to build a scalable communication platform that keeps us connected with the full breadth of our intermediary network while also deepening our reach with business owners. This role will ensure that our outreach is consistent, targeted, and value-added; not just noise. This engine will ensure we maintain visibility and mindshare with both key intermediaries and business owners, directly strengthening both the volume and quality of our deal flow.
The efforts of this role will center on two core objectives:
Increase Inbound Volume
- Montage reviews ~1,200 potential investments per year, but we know that only represents a fraction of the total opportunity
- A key measure of success for this role is increasing deal flow to see every applicable deal that comes to market, which will allow us to be more selective in the opportunities we pursue
Support Thematic Investing Efforts
- Montage Partners’ deal team leads specific investment themes (e.g., specialty industrial distribution / B2B eCommerce, investigative services, etc.)
- These themes will evolve over time, and we will rely on the Email Marketing & Sourcing Associate to develop and implement communication strategies to effectively engage intermediaries as well as business owners
Key Objectives
— Lead the firm’s email outreach efforts
- Build/manage list segments and create evergreen sequences and monthly blocks
- Run cold and warm email campaigns
- Manage segment-level content calendars
— Actively manage campaign performance
- Create monthly reports to track key performance indicators
- Enforce plain-text best practices, sticky-sender routing, daily caps, and reply rules
- Maintain playbooks (sending caps, verification gates, complaint/bounce rules), import templates, tag dictionary, and a monthly QA checklist
- Continuous improvement: A/B test subject/intro lines and cohort timing; recommend changes to email, deal team, and firm processes
- Own subdomains, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, custom tracking domain (CNAME), postmaster/SNDS checks; keep hard bounces <2% and complaints <0.1%
- Oversee verification, dedupe, and enrichment; maintain Do Not Contact, global suppression, and frequency preferences across tools and CRM
- Build/maintain workflows for reply intent (positive/OOO/unsubscribe/complaint), suppression sync, OOO re-queue, and calendar routing to VPs
— Own primary responsibility for maintaining the firm’s CRM
- Maintain, identify, and add new deal origination intermediaries
- Ensure accurate contact info, maintain fields/tags, and build list views/reports, among other standard maintenance
— Act as “top of the funnel” for the firm with new opportunities
- Initial contact point for certain intermediaries, including intro calls as a result of email campaigns
- Longer-term opportunity to develop further relationship management skills
- Monitor (on a weekly basis) new deal opportunities that originate from deal flow websites, email lists, aggregators, etc.
- Maintain internship program to assist with workstreams on an as-needed basis
- Proactively research new databases, technologies, and strategies to support deal origination efforts
