Assembly Technician/Fabricator
Pay: $20.00-$34.00
Pay is based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Entry-level assembly technicians typically start toward the lower end of the range, while experienced fabricators, welders, and heavy equipment technicians may qualify for higher starting pay.
We’re looking for dependable individuals to assemble roadside mowing equipment using accepted assembly procedures under general supervision. This position offers room to grow. Candidates with advanced fabrication, welding, hydraulic, and troubleshooting skills will be considered for higher compensation.
Essential Functions of the Job:
· Assemble components and subassemblies into completed product
· Read measuring tools, verify dimensions and adjust during the assembly process
· Install and troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems
· Test finished products by checking operational functions
· Disassemble, rework, and touchup paint as required
· Safely operate hand tools, power tools and forklifts.
· Perform all duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications (Assembly)
· Knowledge of, and ability to operate machines
· Knowledge of 12v Electrical wiring for heavy equipment
· Knowledge of hydraulic equipment preferred
· Knowledge of, and ability to use, both hand and power tools
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, angle finder
· Potential candidate must possess essential basic math skills.
· Potential candidate will use decimals, fractions, and basic geometry, to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers
· Ability to Build Hydraulic Lines and Troubleshoot work preferred
· Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis
· Ability to Drive and operate a truck with a 30ft gooseneck Trailer
· Ability to prioritize work, using general guidelines to respond to multiple, simultaneous, demands and requirements, efficiently without losing composure.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three-year assembly experience in a manufacturing or distribution workplace
- Experience in a prior job where troubleshooting was necessary to fulfill daily tasks
Preferred Qualifications (Assembly and Fabrication, Higher Starting Pay)
· Ability to use blueprints and operation sheets to fit up, tack, weld, and finish weld, all jobs assigned while consistently producing work of accepted quality
· Ability to pass entry-level weld test, change weld wire settings, and perform well in all welding positions
· Perform related tasks including: grinding, cutting and removing Scraps from tables, routine machine care and maintenance, material handling, recordkeeping, and any other duties as assigned by supervision
· Knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Knowledge of, and ability to operate drill press, lathe, mill, band saw ect.
· Knowledge of 12v Electrical wiring for heavy equipment
· Knowledge of hydraulic equipment preferred
· Knowledge of, and ability to use, both hand and power tools
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, angle finder

· Technical School Preferred
· Minimum two-year assembly experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment or transferable experience preferred
· Experience in a prior job where troubleshooting was necessary to fulfill daily tasks
Working conditions:
· Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist/turn, bend/squat, climb, reach below knees, and reach above shoulders on a continuous basis.
· Must be physically capable of standing/working 8 hour shifts
· Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends, when needed.
· Frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds unassisted
