REPORTS TO: Housekeeping Supervisor
SUPERVISES: No One
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and 51-100 pounds with assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- Under direct supervision, ensures facility linens and residents’ personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed, and/or stored according to facility policy
- Handles all laundry in compliance with sanitary guidelines
- Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories
- Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
- Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
- Identifies personal laundry with resident’s names and remarks personal clothing items if needed
- Uses appropriate PPE when handling contaminated clothing
- Performs other related duties as required or requested
