Position
A Sandblaster is responsible for spraying metal shot in various sizes to remove dirt, debris and rust from metal parts, beams and sheets of metal as well as drive and operate power forklift trucks to move and transfer parts into and out of the blast booth.
Responsibilities
- Utilize blast hose to remove dirt, debris, and rust.
- Utilize power tools as needed.
- Operate forklift to move parts.
Qualifications
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
- Ability to work with arms above head.
- Ability to work from crawling or lying positions.
- Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding.
- Ability to reach and grasp for items.
- Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
- Ability to endure repetitive work at many angles and positions.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Ability to use linear and other measuring devices.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics.
