- Demonstrated knowledge of wrestling techniques, rules, and training methods.
- Prior wrestling coaching experience preferred; experience working with middle school athletes a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes, families, and staff.
- Ability to plan and organize practices, competitions, and conditioning sessions that promote skill development and teamwork.
- Must complete all MHSAA and district-required training and certifications (CPR, First Aid, Concussion Awareness, and others as required).
- Availability for practices, meets, and team activities, including evenings and weekends.
- Develop and implement a wrestling program that emphasizes sportsmanship, effort, discipline, and academic achievement.
- Teach wrestling fundamentals and conditioning appropriate for middle school athletes.
- Supervise student-athletes and assistant coaches, ensuring safety and accountability at all times.
- Operate the program in compliance with MHSAA rules and district policies.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director regarding scheduling, communication, and program needs.
- Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes through professionalism, integrity, and leadership.
- Encourage participation and promote school spirit and pride within the program.

Position Summary
Monroe Middle School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Wrestling Coach to lead the middle school wrestling program. The ideal candidate will promote a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented team culture that supports both individual and team success. This position requires a commitment to student-athlete development, sportsmanship, and adherence to Monroe Public Schools’ and MHSAA standards of conduct.
