Monroe County PA’s Controller’s Office is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Officer to join our team. This position is responsible for supporting the payroll processing functions of the County.
Duties include receiving and inputting employee payroll data, verifying and editing information, processing payroll checks, preparing reports and correspondence, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
Minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Must possess one (1) year of previous experience and/or training involving payroll, taxes, accounting, or other related financial work; OR any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
- The Payroll Officer position may require proficiency with computerized payroll systems and the ability to operate standard office equipment including computers, calculators, and copiers.
